Getting back to normal

Hey everyone!

So things are slowly returning to normal round here. We’re still working on getting things 100% right, but it’s not far. Again I’d like to thank all of you from me and the team for your support, patience and understanding as we’re straightening things out!

Don’t forget that we’re still offering our celebratory discount. Grab 20% off by using “backagain” as your voucher code.

While the recent bump in the road has slowed our progress a little, we still have some exciting stuff to share soon. Keep on watching this space!

Until next week…

We’re back!

Hey everyone!

I don’t mind telling you that the last two weeks have been pretty tough, and probably the toughest I’ve experienced since I took over. For those of you who didn’t know, we had what our technical guys call “mulitple hardware failures”. Whatever. Our site was down. It hurt. I don’t mean to make light of the effort our guys put in to get things back up and running. They were literally working through to the early hours of the morning to get it going again. Yay techies!

So we’ve got the site back online, but are still limping a little while we get things back up to full speed, so hang in there if things seem a little different at first. I have to say that we’ve all appreciated the messages of support and encouragement over this time. It’s really helped us get through it! Rest assured that we’ll be better than ever in no time, and we’re putting even more layers of safety in to make sure we don’t get hit this badly again.

I noticed that Dropbox was down last week, and those guys have got way more resources than us. I’d say we’ve done pretty well under the circumstances.

As a “thank you” for the love you’ve shown us during such difficult times, it’s about time we gave you a little something to say “thanks”. Enter the code “backagain” at the check out for an amazing 20% off our prices.

Until next time!

Major Tom

Hey!

So we have our first music video in space. I know you all like a space theme in your designs and we’ve got a great collection of Doctor Who and Star Wars inspired stuff. Maybe we need a design to toast the end of this current mission.

Get on and get designing!

Until next week…

Here’s to Harryhausen

Hey everyone!

It’s not often I write about less positive subjects, but I was saddened to hear about the passing of Ray Harryhausen -a true creative great.

I’m sure many of the designers we have on MySoti will testify to some influence from the great man’s work… even if it did mean hiding behind the sofa with crayons in hand!

So, in true MySoti style, I’d like to celebrate his life and his work and hope that we’ll see some minotaurs, skeletons or giant scorpions coming to a t-shirt, canvas or lampshade (and something else that can’t yet be named) soon!

Until next time!

New products on the way! Yes, really!

Hey everyone!

So this has been underway for some time, but I told you we’d have something new to share very soon. I won’t spoil it by saying what it is just yet, but within the next couple of weeks, we will have another range of great products which I know you’ll love. We try to find unique things for you to personalise and make your own, so inevitably these take time as our highly-trained team of technical gurus will agree while they’ve been toiling to get them brought in to our site.

Meanwhile, if you have any ideas for any products you’d like to see on the site, don’t keep it to yourself! Tell us now!

Until next time…

The power of community

Hey everyone!

We generally don’t like to single people out for “promotion” as it sets a precedent that we wouldn’t normally be that desirable. On this occasion, we received a message on Facebook a few days ago from someone who had entered a competition and narrowly lost out because he didn’t get enough votes. It got me thinking. Just how powerful is the MySoti community ? I have great faith in y’all, but I’ve not tried to test it. Now may be the time.

This is the design our new friend Rik Potoms has created, and we kinda like it:

If you like it too, why not drop over to his Facebook page and hit the “Like” button:

He’s looking for another 300 votes. Let’s see what good the MySoti community can do! Spread the love!

Until next time…

Mission to Mars. Again.

Hey everyone!

They’re saying that there’s another plan to colonise Mars. I can’t say that appeals to me a heck of a lot! Maybe it’s the weather, or maybe it’s the idea of coffee that gets recycled every day. What would Starbucks say!

That doesn’t seem to curb your appetite for all things spacey (no, not you, Kevin!) as some of our newer designs have proved. There’s a bit more Dr Who action there, thanks to MySoti stalwart, Stuart Witts. If you want something more abstract, we’ve got that covered too!

Until next time…

Ironing the Iron Lady

Hey everyone!

Yup, you guessed it. It looks like Mrs Thatcher’s death has had a real effect on people around the world. What did you think of her ? I want to see those designs coming!

We don’t normally get in to politics here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t spark the debate!

Until next time…

It’s all about the feedback

Hey everyone!

We get a lot of messages from you guys and gals each week. Some good, some not so good. That’s life. We do appreciate all of it, though. Sure, it’s disappointing when people aren’t happy, but we aim to learnfrom those experiences and improve. Long time, loyal MySotians will I’m sure testify to how we have improved.

Likewise, nothing warms my heart more than getting delighted feedback from happy customers. That’s what we’re about. We want you to be happy and it’s great that for the most part we are getting it right.

What I want to say is that whether you’re happy or not so happy about your MySoti experience, please do drop us a line (ask@mysoti.com). You can also use Twitter and Facebook, but if you’re going to say something negative, please keep it constructive!

Talk to us -we want to hear from you!

Until next week…
