Apologising for the apology that referred to the apology from last time

Hey everyone!

Just when I thought I’d finished apologising, I’m apologising again. That last newsletter… which may now be this newsletter by the time you see it was the same as last week’s. I screwed up. Again. Sorry!

We’re continuing to make good progress on shipping and we’re also working hard on sorting out customer services. We are now putting more processes in place to resolve issues for you more rapidly, and hopefully giving less reason to have issues. Hang in there, we’re improving things day by day.

That aside, I’ve been so touched by the support and enthusiasm have shown for everything about MySoti. Steve wasn’t wrong about you! Thank you.

I’m also really pleased to have received suggestions from you on additional products and features you’d like to see. Keep them coming. There are some that we are already working on, and some that honestly didn’t occur to us, so they’re just great to see. Our priority is to smooth out the shopping experience in the first instance, but as I’ve already teased you before, we do have some new developments up our sleeves. We’re going to tease you for a little while longer, but we’re soooo close!

Did I push the wrong button ?

Hey everyone!

If you’ve read the blog from last week, you’d have seen that I still haven’t got this newsletter thing right. I thought I’d had it all figured out. I didn’t because you saw exactly the same message as the previous week! Damn!

So here’s hoping I’ve got it right this time, so if you’re reading this in your mail program, it worked!

One thing we seem to be getting closer to getting right are the deliveries. Not only are we squashing those lead times week on week, but we’ve also been delivering lots of cash to our most excellent designers. Yay you guys!

How do you drive this thing ?

Happy New Year!

So first an apology: the last couple of newsletters kept coming up with different designs from the proper Most Wanted ones. My bad. I’m still trying to figure out which button to push! Fingers crossed that it’s going to work this time!

I guess you’ve already heard about my New Year resolutions. While it’ll take a little time, these are some resolutions I won’t be breaking! We’re making reasonable progress and we’re working at compressing those lead times even more. It’s going to be a more streamlined 2012 for all concerned.

Designers, you lucky guys and gals should already be feeling a bit richer and more payments are on the way, so there’s never been a better time to hit those January sales.

We’ve also been progressing the exciting but still super secret discussions on future developments. I still can’t say what it is yet, but I know you’ll love it!

Times Tumbling

Hey there everyone.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve eaten waaay too much during the holidays!

While many others have ground to a halt over the holiday period, our little elves haven’t stopped! Our shipping times are gradually getting shorter, and we’re working hard to keep them that way!

It looks like the rest of you haven’t completely stopped either! There’s another bunch of great new designs on the site and they keep on coming. I love ‘em. You will too!

Hello from the New Broom!

Hey there everyone.

I’m so pleased to be writing this first blog entry from the MySoti hot seat and help Steve keep the MySoti dream alive. He said you guys are special, and he’s totally right! Just look at the new cool stuff available this week alone.

So I know there are a few things Steve wanted to sort out to give both designers and customers a smoother ride. It isn’t going to happen overnight, but we’re really working hard to accelerate the good work that Steve started. I say “we” because I have some friends helping spread the load. I guess I should give you my manifesto. Here goes:

1. Shipping times will be drastically reduced. This is our top priority, so expect to see those lead times shrinking to e-commerce friendly turnaround times very soon. I’ll make an “official” announcement once we’ve nailed it.

2. Customer service will be more rapid, and you’ll have less reason to need it!

3. More products! I’ve already started the conversations to move this on. I can’t tell you what we’ve got in store for you just yet, but I know you’ll just love it! Stay tuned.

4. More opportunities to make money! It’s all super secret at the moment, but we are in conversations to get your products in front of more people.


Many of you may also have noticed that the calculations on commission payments look as if they have changed recently. This isn’t what’s happening. Our technical drones have been working on fixing some problems that have been discovered during the hand over. None of you will lose any money, and your commission payments will be the same as before. I promise.

Both Steve and I really appreciate you guys and gals hanging in there and supporting us. You’ll soon see that your loyalty is well placed!

Big changes are a’ coming

So, as I alluded to last week  - and on my twitter-feed (@HuntyHunt) there have been some movements within MySoti and finally I am able to talk about them.

In a nutshell, because of other time commitments and my increasingly strange personal life I am standing down from my day-to-day duties and handing over to my good friend and the new chief of MySoti, Aaron.

Aaron has been aware of MySoti for many years and has been involved in a small way with the site since its very beginning. He’s bravely stepped up to the plate and his first task has been to takeover from me and work hard on securing a much improved delivery network for the new year. From what I have seen he’s very, very close at nailing this logistics nightmare for good, bringing in some very exciting new products and a better experience all round. It’s a very exciting time. Expect a post from him within the next week with more details.

The bean counters are making a few changes to the structure of commission payments over the coming months which will result in a slight delay in the short term, but you will get your money in full very soon.

And so, that’s it. The end of an era for me.

Those of you who bother to read these will know that I am very proud of the community and the little marketplace that I’ve built up pretty much on my own over these past few years… I only hope that you continue to support those who have taken over the site now, and that they show you as much care and love in return.

Stuff, nonsense and things…

As always there’s a load of cool, new stuff on MySoti. But you all new that.

Most of you are here reading this news because of the nonsense happening with our delivery times again. Well, we ARE shipping and we ARE getting your orders out as quickly as humanly (and in some cases robotically/computationally) possible. Obviously with the holiday’s fast approaching we’ll be working around the clock to make sure that things get quicker too.

Which brings me onto my next set of things to talk about. Changes are happening here internally within MySoti and these are things that will only help MySoti regain it’s rightful place up and online within the upper echelons of cool places on the Interpipes.

1) It is FREE. Designing with us costs you NOTHING! Nada! Zilch!
2) If you sell stuff through MySoti - stuff that you’ve designed - you MAKE MONEY!
3) What? You didn’t see the FREE MONEY MAKING benefits above? How much more do you want!?

So with that said…

It’s going to be Holiday’s soon. And with our less than amazing shipping record you would do well to think about making those custom purchases sooner rather than later.
